Question # 2 Color Vs. Black and White Portraits

I disagree with Grants quote, but I see the validity in it. When you photograph a person in black and white the viewer is often drawn to the eyes or facial features of the person. This allows the viewer to see how that person is feeling and to relate with them to a certain point. It allows a person to see what they are truly thinking at that moment and allows for there emotions to be seen without the distraction of bright colors that will draw ones eyes away from the subject. In my opinion though, a persons soul is a cumulation of there emotions and all of their past emotions. The color of the clothes that they picked out for the day display their tastes, wants, and attitudes in more than just that one moment. Because of this fact that I believe that a persons choice in how they present themselves to the world help defines who they are I believe that making color portraits better shows a person soul.
